There were two incels, Dima and Vova. And they lived in hell. Hell is the space around an incel, which exists around them every day. The two incels, Dima and Vova, were sitting at Vova's house, looking at a stack of books that Vova had found on the street. The books were mostly on science. Vova showed Dima another thing he had found on the street. It was an unusual cube, covered in paintings of various patterns. Dima took the cube, examined it from all sides, and put it down on the bed they were sitting on. Vova continued examining it. While Dima was looking at the books one by one, Vova was twisting the cube in various ways and suddenly pressed a button in the center of the cube's sides. Small blue lightning bolts immediately began to swirl across the cube. Vova burned himself and He threw the cube away. The cube fell to the floor. Dima put the book down and stared at the cube. Some parts of the cube slid out from the top plane, turned, and went back inside the cube. Vova and Dima exchanged glances. At that moment, the balcony door swung open, and a strong wind blew from the open window on the balcony. The chandelier swayed. The glass in the frame of the hanging picture cracked, and the picture fell to the floor. The books standing on the shelves fell to the floor. The sound of breaking glass was heard in the bathroom. Vova and Dima saw mirror shards flying out of the bathroom into the hallway. The friends ran to the bathroom. They saw that the mirror had shattered. But behind the mirror was not a bare wall, but some kind of space. Light was streaming from there. Carefully stepping over the shards, the incels approached the place where the mirror had been. Wind was blowing from the hole where the white light was. In this light, they saw a dark figure approaching them. The figure walked up to the mirror and stopped. It was a boy their age. He stood in the mirror and looked at them.
The two omegas approached the mirror. The frame around it was smoking. The boy was still looking at them.
"Who are you?" asked Dima.
"I'm human. My name is Nikita."
"Where are you from?" asked Vova, peering closely at his face.
"Clearly not from your world," the boy replied.
Dima nudged Vova's shoulder.
"Vova, it looks like this is a parallel reality."
"Exactly," said Nikita. "Somehow you opened the door to my world. This isn't the first time, so I'm not surprised."
"Are you an incel?"
"Yes."
"Is sex unavailable in your world, too?"
"Yes." "I see," Dima said, "you're in your hell, we're in ours."
There was a pause. Everyone stood silently, on both sides of the mirror.
"Are you in hell too?" Nikita asked.
"We've always been there," Vova replied.
Nikita sighed.
"I see. Things aren't going well here either. Portals have been opening more and more often lately, creating instability."
Vova was the first to break the silence:
"Maybe you could tell me what's going on there? Maybe we can help each other somehow? We're still stuck in this hell."
Nikita shrugged.
"What's there to tell? It's the same as where you are, I guess. Inaccessibility, despair... Except that our government is trying to do something. They've created a support program for incels, they're developing virtual reality technologies to at least somehow compensate..."
Dima chuckled skeptically. "Virtual reality? It's like a poultice for a dead man."
Nikita agreed.
"I understand, but at least it's something. What about you? Complete hopelessness?"
Vova looked at him sadly.
"It's every man for himself here. No one cares."
Suddenly, the cube lying on the floor in the room glowed again. Blue lightning flashed along its edges, and a beam of light burst forth, shooting into the mirror. Nikita screamed and recoiled, and the mirror shattered into tiny pieces with a crash. The space behind it became empty again, and only the faint smell of ozone remained in the air. There was only the wall.
Dima and Vova exchanged glances. The cube lay on the floor again, as if nothing had happened. And Nikita was no longer there.
