Мороз и солнце; день чудесный!


Еще ты дремлешь, друг прелестный —


Пора, красавица, проснись:


Открой сомкнуты негой взоры


Навстречу северной Авроры,


Звездою севера явись!



Вечор, ты помнишь, вьюга злилась,


На мутном небе мгла носилась;


Луна, как бледное пятно,


Сквозь тучи мрачные желтела,


И ты печальная сидела —


А нынче... погляди в окно:



Под голубыми небесами


Великолепными коврами,


Блестя на солнце, снег лежит;


Прозрачный лес один чернеет,


И ель сквозь иней зеленеет,


И речка подо льдом блестит.



Вся комната янтарным блеском


Озарена. Веселым треском


Трещит затопленная печь.


Приятно думать у лежанки.


Но знаешь: не велеть ли в санки


Кобылку бурую запречь?



Скользя по утреннему снегу,


Друг милый, предадимся бегу


Нетерпеливого коня


И навестим поля пустые,


Леса, недавно столь густые,


И берег, милый для меня.©

Alexander Pushkin — WINTER MORNING

Frost and sun; a wonderful day!

You are still dozing, my lovely friend —

It's time, my beauty, to awaken:

Open your gaze, closed in bliss,

Towards the northern Aurora,

Become a star of the north!

Last night, you remember, the blizzard raged,

Across the murky sky, a haze swirled;

The moon, like a pale spot,

Turned yellow through the gloomy clouds,

And you sat sadly —

And now... look out the window:

Under the blue skies

Magnificent carpets,

Glistening in the sun, the snow lies;

The transparent forest alone turns black,

And the spruce turns green through the frost,

And the river sparkles beneath the ice.

The whole room is amber-lit

Illuminated. By the cheerful crackling

The lit stove crackles.

It's pleasant to think by the stove bench.

But you know: should I order

The brown mare to the sleigh?

Sliding through the morning snow,

Dear friend, let's give in to the run

The impatient horse

And visit the empty fields,

The forests, so recently so dense,

And the shore, dear to me. ©
