Person and Hypostasis. Their Difference
Wikipedia: "Hypostasis (Ancient Greek: "basis; existence, reality, actuality; ESSENCE; persona"; from Ancient Greek: "prefix meaning: pod" - "arrangement, establishment; standing in place, immobility, rest") is a term used in Christian theology (primarily Eastern) to denote each of the three ESSENCES of the Christian Triune God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit."
A person is a subject of sociocultural life, self-revealing their individuality in the context of social relations, communication, and objective ACTIVITIES. The concept of "personality" is inextricably linked to the social nature of man. Social position: social status, PLACE IN SOCIETY
Conclusion: As can be seen from the two definitions of the Trinity, the word "person" more correctly, precisely, and sensibly defines the place in the Trinity of the Heavenly Father, His Son, and the Holy Spirit. The word "hypostasis" is not a precise definition, it is vague and difficult for people to understand, and therefore people understand the word "hypostasis" more as the word "ESSENCE." Meanwhile, the Bible speaks of the place of the Son of God in the Trinity, emphasizing His PURPOSE, His activity—to bring the Word of the Father to people. This is what the Son of God, called Jesus by the Father and Christ by men, accomplished during His ministry at His First Coming to them.
The Bible on personality: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. This was the true Light, which lighteth every man coming into the world.
He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world knew Him not. He came unto His own, and His own received Him not. But as many as received Him, to them gave He the power to become children of God, even to them that believe on His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:12) 1-5, 9-14).
The word "hypostasis" is used in the church, but it is essentially unsuitable for the concept of the Trinity. However, we can use it in other topics WHERE THE ESSENCE OF GOD IS DISCUSSION. The essence of each person of the TRINITY is GOD, DEITY, and this is SPIRIT.
