From a Long-Time Fan
Dear Ms. Slater,
My name is Viktor Misyurev, and I am writing to you today, driven by deep appreciation for your work, which has accompanied me virtually all my life.
What prompted me to write to you?
It all started with the movie "You can't Buy Love" (1987), which I discovered quite recently. I liked the simplicity and sincerity of this painting so much that I started looking for similar ones. The first movie I came across in the recommendations was "Happy Together" (1989).
And here, I admit, I not only liked the film, but also the performer of the main role. I started looking for other films with her participation. To my great surprise, I discovered that the actress from "Happy Together" is the same actress who played in the movie "Super Girl". I was amazed at how well you played in both of these films, and most importantly, how different your roles were— so much so that it took me a moment to realize it was you.
I'll explain why I put such an emphasis on the "Super Girl".
I watched this movie as a kid, and I remember falling irrevocably in love with the main character. Blonde eyes, blonde hair... your image in this movie is deeply embedded in my soul. As time passed, I grew up, and many things changed, but the image of the one who captivated me as a child remained, even though the film itself was forgotten over time. This image constantly determined my choice. And so, after many years, I was pleasantly surprised that the actress from "Happy Together", who won me over with her acting and beauty, is the very actress whose image I have carried in me all my life.
I decided to run a little marathon for myself and enjoyed watching other films with your participation. It was interesting for me to follow your career, and I noticed that over time you moved from big movies to work on television. There was some sadness, but I fully understood and accepted this decision, especially when I read an excerpt from one of your interviews, where you voiced the reasons for your choice. I admire your decision and the way you continue to do what you love.
Your image, your acting and, dare I add, your beautiful voice remain a source of inspiration for me. Thank you for the emotions and impressions that you have given me and, I am sure, to many other viewers over the decades.
With sincere respect and best wishes,
Victor Misyurev.
My last name is... © "too famous to pronounce it," it's a joke! It's just that it's quite difficult to pronounce in Russian!
