Nara-Narayana

The positive pole of "who" and the negative pole of "what" represent the dual sage in the image of Nara-Narayana, light and dark, causal waters and creator. Nara-Narayana is the incessant transition from the perfect to the imperfect phase and back again. The Trimurti—Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva—draw inspiration from the image of Nara-Narayana, as the structure of the elementary particle of mobile matter. In the image of Nara-Narayana, birth and death occur like the changing of the seasons; the spring and autumn equinoxes, like the dual embryo of "these," separate the united and unite the separated. Nara and Narayana, as the perfect and imperfect phases of existence in the image of the light and dark sage, are like the light and dark halves of a kalpa period, and the dual embryo of the development of "these" is the image of an infant lying on the causal waters of unmanifest nature.
Time externally dissolves our outer body into five elements, successively from solid to fluid, from fluid to light. And through our virtuous, unvirtuous, and selfless deeds, these five elements re-form into a body, passing from a state of light to a fluid, and from fluid to a solid state. Just as a person walking, after placing one foot on the ground, lifts the other, so our subtle body of conceit, consisting of the mind, intellect, and imaginary "I," through the actions of body, speech, and mind, does not leave the outer body until it forms the body of tendencies. By the time the subtle body leaves the outer body, like discarding old clothing, the particle of consciousness already has at its disposal the next body, like a new garment, fashioned from our actions of body, speech, and mind. With unwholesome deeds, we pave the way for future limitations of perception, and consequently, for greater suffering, but the person who neither harms nor wishes harm to their neighbor will not have to flee from enemies in either this or the next life. Love makes us boundless, transcending the boundaries of convention and contradiction. Of this there is no doubt!
