The King of Love
Why do the nations rage and start to fear,
As if the Maker’s voice is not so near?
God is great forever.
God is great forever.
The rulers rise with proud and heavy hand,
To break the cords of peace across the land.
Yet from the heavens, high above the strife,
The Father smiles upon the breath of life.
Not in a wrath that seeks to burn and break,But with a love that holds for mercy’s sake.He speaks in grace: "Behold My chosen One,My heart is home, and you are called My son.Ask of My hands, and I will give the earth,To wrap the nations in a brand-new birth."So listen, kings, and cast your pride away,And turn your hearts to meet the dawning day.Serve in a quiet awe, with gentle breath,And kiss the Son to find a life from death.Safe is the soul that leaves its fears behind,In steadfast arms where lasting peace is found.Blessed are they who make His love their nest,And in His holy shadow find their rest.
