The Eternal Forgetfulness of Dreams
The month turns into the moon, and then
This is the infinity of our ages,
Everything repeats again and again:
The eternal forgetfulness of our dreams.
Autumn will wash away the summer tan,
The wind will stick a leaf to the window pane.
It will remind us of a hat and a warm scarf,
It will make us count the days again
Until Christmas, bringing Spring closer, as if by chance.
The cold sky, full of stars at night,
Winter and New Year are closer, out of sight.
And the birds carry our dreams somewhere south,
The dreams that haven't come true,
And the ones that can never be returned, in truth.
The sun rises and sets again,
The month turns into the moon, and then
This is the infinity of our ages,
Everything repeats again and again:
The eternal forgetfulness of our dreams.
