The One Who Carried the Light

I shall take flight, a bird set free,
And soar where skies embrace the blue.
With gentle wings, I'll brush the sky,
And gather crumbs where lost dreams lie.

I'll gather crumbs upon the ground,
Where broken bread lies scattered round.
And in the silence, softly sigh,
With tender lips, draw gently nigh.

To one they gave to cruel fate,
And left to suffer, desolate.
While those who watched with mocking eyes
Rejoiced to see his bitter cries.

And in the darkness, I shall paint,
For him, whose soul they made to faint.
For one they forced to bear such pain,
And trampled down beneath disdain.

The one who filled the world with light,
Who wrapped in warmth the darkest night.
For those whose faith had ceased to last,
He came – a fairytale at last.
