A Dream Was Born
Like heaven's light, both near and far.
My heart burst into flames anew,
My every thought belongs to you.
Perhaps my dream can never be,
A dream that fate denies to me.
Yet all my thoughts, both night and day,
Are yours alone, though far away.
Love's raging fire consumes my soul,
A lonely flame beyond control.
And in the dark, my tears shine bright,
Their bitter salt concealed from sight.
I'll chain my heart and make it still,
And bid it silence its own will.
Yet something pierces deep within,
A pain that makes me cry again.
Between us lies a dagger's blade,
A fragile thread that may soon fade.
The bitter poison stains my veins,
The sting of loneliness remains.
The sting of solitude… How can I live,
With nothing left to take or give?
My dream still glows, a gentle light,
Like fleeting visions through the night.
And there we are, together, free,
While flowers bloom and oceans breathe.
The distant ocean softly roars,
But dreams dissolve behind closed doors.
The night returns, the day has fled,
And all the dreams we shared are dead.
You fade away, a shadow's trace,
An absent soul, an empty space.
And without you, I cease to be,
A fading shadow, lost and free.
I'll chain my heart and break apart,
And tear the pieces from my heart.
In silence, I shall wash in blood,
And reach for you through darkness' flood.
That hand, so pale against the night,
Still glimmers faintly in my sight.
I'll drown in tears, as in the sea,
With nothing left to comfort me.
And love – my foe, my dearest friend –
Will give this song its bitter end.
A song that whispers through the blue:
A song of love… A song of you.
